About

Sam Norton

Sam Norton is the founder of The Well-being Hub and a registered complementary Bowen therapist with an extensive background in healthcare and holistic well-being. She is trained in the Original Bowen Technique (BowTech), as developed by Tom Bowen, and works within the scope of practice and professional standards set by the Bowen Association UK and the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC).

Prior to retraining as a complementary therapist, Sam spent 17 years working as an NEBDN registered dental nurse, including 10 years within the NHS. During this time, she worked across access care services, led orthodontic assessment clinics, and supported patients within special needs and community dentistry. Her role also involved peripatetic work across Lincolnshire, covering a range of community clinics and hospital settings.

Following the birth of her second child, Sam took a career break. In 2012, she worked alongside government bodies and healthcare professionals during the judicial review of children’s cardiac services, contributing to the successful retention of the East Midlands Congenital Heart Centre and the continuation of specialist cardiac care and surgical services for children born with congenital heart disease. She later founded, ran, and led a children’s charity for three years, supporting Leicester Children’s Hospital through the provision of essential medical equipment, charitable funding, parent and child support resources, and family facilities within the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit and High Dependency Ward.

Sam holds a Certificate of Higher Education in Health Sciences from The Open University and an ITEC Level 3 Diploma in Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology. She has been practising Bowen Therapy for over three years and is a member of the Bowen Association UK and the Bowen Therapy Professional Association. She is registered with the CNHC and holds an enhanced DBS check, enabling her to work with adults and children in healthcare, educational, and community settings, including with individuals who may be disabled or vulnerable.

In addition to Bowen Therapy, Sam is trained in MSTR® Scar Tissue Remedial Therapy, a gentle, non-invasive technique that aims to support the body’s natural response to scar tissue by working with the nervous system and soft tissues. This approach may be beneficial for individuals experiencing restriction, discomfort, or altered sensation associated with surgical or traumatic scars.

Sam continues to expand her professional training to support a holistic and client-centred approach. This includes further study in nervous system regulation, lymphatic support, and immunology within holistic practice, alongside training in strength and conditioning with a particular interest in movement and nutrition. These elements are incorporated appropriately to support clients beyond the treatment room, always recognising that individual needs, abilities, and limits vary.

Bowen Therapy forms the foundation of Sam’s practice and is used to support the body’s natural capacity for balance and self-regulation, particularly through working with the autonomic nervous system to encourage relaxation and restoration. Sam has a particular interest in working with clients who have additional needs and those living with chronic or long-term health conditions, offering a gentle, respectful, and adaptable approach.
