It's been some time since our last post (before Christmas!!), as behind the scenes we have been busy.. Not just treating our lovely clients, providing relief, helping injuries and rebalancing people, but also with education so we can bring even more to your treatment sessions, and visits to the Well-being hub.
Sam has had her head in the books researching more ways to help our clients with Bowen and beyond. So far, her education this year has included Scar Tissue Release Therapy, and continuing modules of revision of the Bowen Technique, ready to undertake further studies in advanced Bowen Technique later this year. Only two days ago, Sam returned from a foundation course in lymphatics, the vagus nerve and the immune system for manual therapists. This will enalble Sam to undertake: 'The mentorship into the vagus nerve, lymphatic and introduction to the unique principles of functional medicine'. On top of this, Sam has other aspects of education within health and well-being in her sights, including a diploma in nutrition, and a level 4 certificate in PT and strength and conditioning training, to assist in helping the body rebalance and reset from the inside to the out, and how to help with overall health and body maintenance. This will also enable her to educate clients of the Well-being Hub going forward...- Exciting times are ahead!
Sam's vision for the Well-being Hub goes beyond Bowen Therapy. Helping the body to rebalance through Bowen and this unique technique of working on precise pin point areas, aiding the autonomic nervous system shouldn't stop there.
Providing release and reset internally through working with the vagus nerve and the lymphatic system (these are two of the most neglected systems in the body), can assist the immune system to respond and help regulate wellness.
Helping people to co-ordinate and bring strength, movement and flexibility into everyday life- especially as we age, is of the upmost importance and Sam wants to be able to demonstrate and educate our clients to enable this going forward in life.
Finally, nutrition. We all need to eat and getting it right in today's society is hard. Most people know what a 'diet' is, and the food industry is worth billions. From farm to fork, and to all of those who promote and post their latest diet trends, food is a necessity. And yet making conscious choices to fuel our bodies with nutrient- dense food can sometimes be a tough decision. We all know we are 'meant to be good' but we all like to enjoy the finer foods in life. There are millions of people and businesses out there telling us what we 'should' be doing and what to eat/not eat. However, the large 'healthy diet' based industries such as those involved in weight loss have a perfect business model by not educating their clients on the basics. They educate in other ways and this can sometimes be very difficult to understand. Part of the Well-being Hub's all-round approach going forward is to help educate and provide the tools for everyday life. - More to follow on this!
There we have it! Exciting times ahead and a lot of hard work, but it will all be worth it to bring a fantastic all round, individual holistic approach to each and everyone of our clients.. Watch this space!
